State Parliamentary Petition

Letter from Angela
Hi all,

Since February this year I have been actively
challenging sexually explicit books for children in our public libraries.

I started with a deputation speech at my local council meeting in February. I have written to Public Library Services SA, Licensing Enforcement Branch SA, Phoned Consumer and Business Affairs and Written the Ombudsman.

In July this year I officially challenged one book; 'Let's Talk about it' for classification. Throughout this process I have found that the majority of books held in our Public Libraries are Unclassified and Unrestricted and therefore do not have the correct consumer advice on the cover as a film or computer game would.

Over the months since I started on this campaign, I have met more and more people who also share similar concerns. The biggest question I get asked is "How can I help?"

Today I am launching a State Parliamentary Petition. I need 10000 signatures minimum.

Please Print the Petition. Signatures must be original in Pen, no electronic signing. Once completed please post the original (no scanning and emailing)

Petition Halt gender affirmation practices

The Petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council that Victoria practices a condemned model of care to address childhood gender dysphoria with no reports of the model being abandoned.

Parents Call on Medical Associations:  Reject WPATH as Authority on Gender Dysphoria

We are parents of children who suddenly, seemingly out of the blue, decided they were unhappy with their natal sex and began identifying as the opposite sex, or some other “gender”.  We are gravely concerned about the rush to “affirm” our children’s new identities without ever stopping to ask why they have become unhappy with their natural bodies.  The “affirmation approach” prescribed by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) is dangerously misguided and only serves to solidify our children’s newly-created identities, setting them on a course for social, medical and surgical transition. There is little evidence that this approach is effective in alleviating their distress, yet it poses serious risks of causing irreversible harm.  We are calling for all medical organizations to reject the WPATH guidelines and adopt a more psychologically and developmentally informed approach to our children’s care.

Stop Transitioning Children!

Children across Australia are being subjected to dangerous, unproven gender transition treatments, and we must act now to protect them.
Gender clinics in our country are prescribing puberty blockers and performing irreversible surgeries on children, despite the lack of solid evidence supporting these practices.
